Zosia Wand is an author and playwright with a passion for stories – both creating her own, and reading and sharing other people’s. She has worked in literature development for twenty years.
She gained an MA with distinction in Creative Writing from Lancaster University and has had a number of plays commissioned for Radio Four. Her stage play, Quicksand, was premiered at The Dukes Playhouse Lancaster in 2011 and sold out during its run at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. In 2014 she wrote the script for The Lancaster Williamson Park/Dukes Theatre production Hansel and Gretel and More Tales from the Forest, which The Guardian described as “a form of free-association fairy tale remix that owes as much to Shrek as to the Brothers Grimm”.In 2017 she was selected for the Royal Court Northern Writers Programme.
She lives, with her family, in the festival town of Ulverston, South Cumbria and her stories are rooted in this landscape. Her first two novels, Trust Me (2017) and The Accusation (2018) are published by Head of Zeus.
This workshop will give participants the benefit of her expertise in this field and is highly recommended for any writer thinking of working in the theatre.
