As well as her charity work, guiding people around Furness Abbey for English Heritage and writing her fantasy series, Gill Jepson has also been commissioned by Amberley Publishing to write books about Barrow-in-Furness.

With her teaching background, passionate love of history, and dedication to the cause, Gill is very productive, giving talks on local history and writing magazine articles about Furness.

For Amberley, Gill has written: Barrow-in-Furness at Work, Secret Barrow-in-Furness, Barrow-in-Furness Through Time, Barrow-in-Furness in 50 Buildings and her new one, Lost Barrow-in-Furness, plus one on Lake Windermere, Grasmere and Coniston Water Through Time.

Listen to her telling of how she researched and produced these books and, of course, about her love of the area.
