Poetry Open Mic

With Kim Moore & Geraldine Green

7pm – 9pm @ Dalton Community Centre, 21 Nelson Street, Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA15 8AF :: £2 Pay on the door

If an open mic night to air your poetry and listen to the work of others is up your street then you’re in luck.

If you have a stash of poems or one amazing one you would love to share with like-minded people then Dalton LitFest is the place to be.

Two of the area’s most popular poets, Kim Moore and Geraldine Green, will lead an Open Mic session to round off the day when they’ll read their own work and invite members of the audience to join them and read their own poems.

Do come and join in what will be a fun, supportive and informative event.

Kim Moore’s first collection ‘The Art of Falling’ was published by Seren in 2015 and was shortlisted for the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards. Her pamphlet ‘If We Could Speak Like Wolves’ was a winner in the 2012 Poetry Business Pamphlet Competition, judged by Carol Ann Duffy.

Geraldine Green’s, first two full-length collections, ‘The Other Side of the Bridge’ and ‘Salt Road’, were published by Indigo Dreams. They will publish Geraldine’s new collection ‘Passing Through’ in 2018.

Dalton Community Centre is wheelchair accessible.

There is disabled parking near venues but if you need assistance phone Shaun on 07743 822114 to arrange a volunteer to meet you to help out.
