Joffre White, from Somerset, is a UK Patron of Reading and Ambassador for Achievements for All, as well as published author. An inspirational speaker – he is giving talks in two local schools as part of our Litfest – he is also a qualified learning and development trainer and life skills coach. Joffre is passionate about the value of libraries, especially school libraries.

His fantasy books include: The Frog Trilogy and Earthland.

Gill Jepson, also a Patron of Reading, is well known in Furness as a tireless worker for charity, an ex-teacher and local historian as well as expert on Furness Abbey [she founded Furness Abbey Fellowship and takes guided tours of the ruins]. As well as her many books on Barrow, she is also the author of a trilogy of fantasy tales for young people set around the Abbey.

Her fantasy books are: the Out of Time series.
